Mr. Peter Michiels has served as Chief Human Resources Internal Communication Officer, Member of the Management Committee of Elia System Operator N.V. since January 3, 2017. He joined Elia as Chief Human Resources Internal Communication Officer on 1 January 2017. Peter Michiels has many years of experience in the field of human resources. He started his career in 1990 as consultant for VEV, now SD Worx. In 1995 he leaves for the British multinational chemistry group ICI, where he successively fills the positions of Head of Payroll Admin, HR Lead for Headquarters and other ICI operations in Belgium, and finally HR Director Europe . In 1999 ICI is acquired by Huntsman. Peter Michiels retains his position until 2004, when he is promoted to Corporationrationrate HR Director EMEA for the entire Huntsman group. As of 2009, he was also Global Business Partner. In 2013, Peter Michiels leaves for Esko, where he becomes Global Vice President HR until late 2016, after which he joined Elia. since 2017.

Elia Group SANV Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Elia Group's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Elia Group inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Elia. The board's role is to monitor Elia Group's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Elia Group's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects. On the other hand, Elia Group's outside directors are responsible for providing unbiased perspectives on the board's policies.
