Gilberto Cifuentes - Southern Copper Independent Director

Mr. Gilberto Perezalonso Cifuentes served as Independent Director of Southern Copper Corporationrationration. He was a director of the Company since June 2002 and is a special independent director nominee. Mr. Perezalonso was Chairman of the board of directors of Volaris Compaa de Aviacin, S.A.P.I. de C.V. from March 2, 2011 to November 2014. Mr. Perezalonso was the Chief Executive Officer of Aeromxico from 2004 until December 2005. From 1998 until April 2001, he was Executive Vice President of Administration and Finance of Grupo Televisa, S.A.B. . From 1980 until February 1998, Mr. Perezalonso held various positions with Grupo Cifra, S.A. de C.V., the most recent position being that of General Director of Administration and Finance. Now he is a member of the advisory council of Banco Nacional de Mxico, S.A. de C.V., the board of directors and the investment committee of Afore Banamex, the board and the investment committee of Siefore Banamex No. 1, and is a member of the boards of directors of Gigante, S.A. de C.V., Masnegocio Co. S. de R.L. de C.V., Intellego, Telefnica Mviles Mxico, S.A. de C.V., Cruz Roja Mexicana, Construction Company Marhnos, and Fomento de Investigacin y Cultura Superior, A.C. . Mr. Perezalonso has a Law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Mexico and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Business Administration Graduate School for Central America in Nicaragua. Mr. Perezalonso has also attended a Corporationrationrate Finance program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. since 2002.
