Mr. Jarbas Jose Valente serves as Technical Operational Director of Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras S.A. Telebras. He began his professional career in private companies in the telecommunications sector, and later occupied, among others, the Chief of Embratel Commercial Area in Braslia, the Presidency of Boards of Directors of several companies of the TELEBRS System and, in the Ministry of Communications, the Directorates of the Telecommunication Services Inspection and Concession Departments and Chairman of the Special Commission for the Bidding of Broadcasting Services. At Anatel he also served as President of several Special Biddings Committees for Subscription and Mobile TV Services, Delegate Representative of Anatel to ITU, CITEL, MERCOSUL, ARCTELCPLP and REGULATEL and for three years was Superintendent of Communication Services of Massa and, between 2001 and the beginning of 2010, Superintendent of Private Services. He was Deputy Executive Superintendent from 2002 to 2004 and, on two occasions, served as Deputy Advisor to the Agency in the periods 19992001 and 20042006. Between 2010 and 2014 he was a Full Member of the Board of Directors and also Vice President of Anatel. He graduated in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidade de Brasilia, Specialist in Systems Analysis, Data Communications and Service Marketing.
