Mr. James A. Bowen is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of First Trust Intermediate Duration Preferred Income Fund. He is the Chairman of the Board of the First Trust Funds and Chief Executive Officer of First Trust Advisors L.P. and First Trust Portfolios L.P., and until January 23, 2012, also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the First Trust Funds. Mr. Bowen also serves on the Executive Committee. He has over 26 years of experience in the investment company business in sales, sales management and executive management. Mr. Bowen has served as a Trustee of each First Trust Fund since its inception.
