Mr. David M. Wurzer, CPA, is an Independent Director of Special Diversified Opportunities Inc. since February 2010. Since 2009, Mr. Wurzer has served as Managing Director, Investments, Senior Managing Director, Investments, and beginning April 2014, as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Connecticut Innovations, the State VC arm. He is responsible for oversight of the CI Ventures VC portfolio and team, as well as sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities, leading CI investments in entrepreneurial hightech ventures and advising portfolio companies. Prior to joining Connecticut Innovations, Mr. Wurzer most recently served as Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of CuraGen Corporationrationration, a biopharmaceutical development company, from September 1997 through December 2007. He has over 30 years of financial experience with growthoriented companies, including direct involvement with raising capital, strategic transactions and mergers and acquisitions, for both startup companies and publiclyheld entities. Mr. Wurzer serves on the boards of SmartPay Newco, LLC, and Thetis Pharmaceuticals, LLC, which are privately held, and on the boards of Response Genetics, Inc. and Summit Therapeutics plc since 2010.
